You wouldn’t know it was nearly spring, looking at the pouring rain outside, but I like to be optimistic. Besides, I’m feeling happy today – I just finished another round of edits on my Work in Progress!
I’m now ready to send my manuscript off to a professional editor, and at the same time let Hubby have his first proper read of my novel.
This week I came across a new podcast for ‘Writer Moms’, which has been really encouraging to listen to. It’s hard sometimes to find time to write amidst the busy day-to-day tasks of raising children, especially when three of them are with me all day, every day, because we home educate! But I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I’m still amazed that I’ve actually managed to finish this first novel in less than a year.
I also made a few connections with other Christian writers, and I’ve been reading around a lot more in that genre.
Here are a couple I recommend:
Grace in Strange Disguise, by Christine Dillon
Set in Australia, Physiotherapist Esther Macdonald is a pastor’s daughter. Life seems to be going so well until a shock diagnosis shatters her world. Is her faith strong enough to pull her through?

A Vicarage Reunion, by Kate Hewitt
The second in this series of books takes up the story of Esther Holley. A recent miscarriage threatens to break up her marriage to Will. Can they save their marriage in the face of buried secrets that have lain hidden for so long?

I’m also REALLY looking forward to reading the new Francine Rivers Novel:
The Masterpiece, by Francine Rivers
Another redemptive love story, set in LA, involving an outwardly successful artist and his new personal assistant, who are both wrestling with their own secrets.

Let me know if you have any recommended reads – it’s always fun to discover new authors!
